I WOOD BE is delighted to participate as an artist designer in the Romanian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, contributing to the theme "Romania, Land of Tomorrow" through a contemporary approach to craftsmanship and sustainability. We will represent Romania through creations that combine innovative design with reclaimed natural materials and will support interactive creative workshops, inspired by the values of the circular economy, social responsibility and cultural identity. Our presence at the National Pavilion is an opportunity to share the vision of a Romania that honors its traditions, actively contributing to shaping a society of the future.

EXPO 2025 OSAKA

The experiences we propose in the interactive creative workshops will show how reused material can become art, and each object created will become a bridge between the artisanal past of the Romanian village and the future of a responsible society connected to nature. We will weave into each creation fragments from different corners of the country – techniques, motifs, textures – carefully preserved by communities and reinterpreted through contemporary design.

At the National Pavilion, we will invite visitors to discover not only the visual beauty of handcraft, but also to experience, through the senses, the story of each object: the natural texture of wood and leather, the vivid touch of the material taking shape under the artist’s hands. It will be a complete experience – emotional, aesthetic and educational – in which art, sustainability and Romanian identity will meet in a new, vivid and deeply relevant form for the future.

Within the Romanian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, I WOOD BE will support a series of interactive workshops in which visitors will explore the transformation of recovered materials into functional art objects. From wood pyrography and gold leaf applied to trays inspired by the tea ritual, to the creation of embroidered fans, accessories made from natural materials, photo albums with wishes for the future, hand prints on Romanian textiles with natural pigments and the reinterpretation of a traditional Romanian-Japanese style catrințe – each workshop will offer a creative, multisensory and memorable experience.

The desired outcome for participants is to experience an introspective, cultural and creative experience that allows them to reflect on their own identity and the future they imagine, using art as a means of expression.

Through the proposed workshops, they will understand the depth of traditional Romanian symbols, experience the process of working with natural materials such as birch wood, and explore the connection between tradition, sustainability, and personal development. Participants will leave with a strong emotional and intellectual imprint - a lived story that will remain in their hearts and minds.
